Clindamycin and Clotrimazole Vaginal Softgel Capsules consist of two active ingredients: ‘Clindamycin’ (an antibiotic) and ‘Clotrimazole’ (an antifungal). Clindamycin is categorized under the lincomycin antibiotic group and functions by inhibiting the protein synthesis of bacteria, which is essential for their survival. Consequently, it slows down bacterial growth without eliminating them (bacteriostatic effect). Conversely, Clotrimazole is part of the imidazole antifungal group, which eliminates fungi by creating openings in their cell membranes, causing their contents to leak out.
Uses of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole Vaginal Softgel Capsules
Clindamycin combined with clotrimazole is utilized to address vaginal infections caused by bacteria (bacterial vaginosis), yeast infections (candidiasis), and parasitic infections (trichomoniasis). Bacterial vaginosis occurs due to an alteration in the normal balance of bacteria in the vagina. A vaginal yeast infection, or candidiasis, is characterized by an infection of the vagina and the tissues surrounding the vaginal opening (vulva). Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection that results from a parasitic infection. Symptoms associated with a vaginal infection may include itching, an unpleasant odour, and an unusually heavy white discharge from the vagina.

Precautions To Be Taken
